Creative and Cultural Opportunities Programme (C&COP)

A pre-employability bootcamp that gives the tools you need to get into the creative, cultural, digital, and technology sectors

The Good Growth Hub, operated by A New Direction, is refining the Creative & Career Opportunities Programme (C&COP) to support young people aged 18-30 from East London. The programme builds confidence and offers job market insights, connecting local talent to creative and cultural sectors.

C&COP offers workshops on CV development, ensuring participants can create standout CVs, and portfolio development, key for those entering creative industries.

Workshops - designed & co-curated by industry peers - on communication and soft skills are also crucial, helping participants succeed in professional environments. Confidence-building exercises prepare them for customer-facing roles. Speed interviews provide real-world experience and feedback, and refining interview skills.

Participants benefit from workplace-based workshops and networking events, where they meet potential employers. Speed networking and mock interviews provide further feedback and opportunities to connect with industry professionals.

By the programme’s end, participants will have improved CVs, stronger portfolios, and greater confidence. They’ll be equipped to apply for more jobs and succeed in interviews, increasing their chances of employment.

C&COP is designed to inform and upskill young people and effectively contribute to bridging the gap between local talent and local businesses. Through the professional connections it facilitates, and the job prep it enables, C&COP offers a well-rounded taster to understand, navigate and progress careers in the creative industries.

C&COP first launched in 2017 as part of the London Legacy Development Cooperation (LLDC) East Works' commitment to jobs and continues to be funded by LLDC, with match funding by Foundation for Future London's New Talent-Future Leaders programme.
