About the BAFTA Prince William Development Bursary Fund

The BAFTA Career Development Bursary is a fund to help assist junior creatives with the costs of progressing their career in film, television or games.

Please note applicants could apply for up to £2000 towards specific costs such as a training course (including driving lessons), the costs of equipment or software, or relocation costs; as well as a contribution towards living expenses whilst working or doing work experience.

To qualify applicants must be over 18, demonstrate financial need, have experience in the film, games or TV sectors, and have worked with our partner organisations (BFI Film Academy, Creative Access, Film Fixer, MAMA Youth, Sara Putt Associates or Screen Alliance) or taken part in BAFTA’s Young Game Designer competition.

Konadu Yiadom Gyamfi is a British-Ghanaian Director and Writer, though all of these titles can be distilled into one: Storyteller. A recipient of the prestigious BAFTA Prince William Grant, her work focuses on creating stories about things we don’t often hear or speak about—amplifying fresh, untold voices.

Her last film 'WORKS FOR: STELLA' was showcased at The British Museum and selected as apart of NOWNESS Picks.

Konadu’s latest project is a poetry-driven dance film celebrating the triumphs of Black ballerinas. The film intimately explores their struggles and successes, embodying resilience and artistry. It is set to be released later this year.

Looking ahead, Konadu is passionate about writing and directing comedy dramas, using humor and heart to bring attention to untold stories and open conversations about the overlooked aspects of the human experience.
