Step Inside the Studio: BBC Radio

An opportunity for 18-30 year olds to explore behind the scenes of the radio industry

Curious to learn about what a career in radio, music or broadcasting is really like? We're taking young east Londoners aged 18 to 30 to explore a chance behind the scenes to visit BBC Radio station for an exclusive two-hour visit.

This opportunity is designed to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the world of audio production.

📻 What’s Included

  • A guided studio tour to explore how professional radio is made.
  • A chance to take part in a mock radio session—step up to the mic, hear your voice on air, and get hands-on with a real radio desk.
  • Insight into BBC’s Radio & Music schemes, with info and advice on how to get involved and kickstart your journey in the industry.

  • Eligibility

    Who can apply?

    Essential:

    • Aged 18-30.
    • Living in a London borough*.
    • Interested in a career in the behind the scenes of the world of radio.

    *Priority is given to those attended school and living in: Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Hackney, and Newham.

    We are particularly interested in hearing from young people from the global majority, from low-income backgrounds, and those who identify as Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent, and it is really important to us that there are no barriers to anyone applying for opportunities at Good Growth Hub.
