We create employment and skills opportunities for young East Londoners to get into and grow within our local creative, cultural, and digital sectors via a year-round calendar of training programmes, short courses, workshops, events, and more.
Our programmes are usually delivered at the Good Growth Hub – located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) – and are co-designed with or facilitated by those working in the destined fields, from big-name brands and institutions to trailblazing DIY freelancers. These programmes service the many ways entry-level roles can be gained, including:
- Careers advice & support with Creative Connect guide career queries, support in writing a CV, cover letter or application, and practice interview skills.
- Short Training Courses like Skills for Life (formerly Creativity Works) and Flipside are usually part-time, with a bursary and under 12 weeks long to build instant working skills and fast-track into careers.
- Pre-employment Creative & Cultural Opportunities Programme are an intensive, under 2-week taster crash course designed to give information on an in-demand career area, delivered in collaboration with employers, and taking place in person through a mixture of masterclasses and collaborative workshops.
- Traineeships like STEP and Royal Docks are 12-month paid entry-level roles, designed to support you step into the creative industry of your choice, with supported guidance from our team of facilitators, a mentor, and monthly regular peer-connection sessions.
We also run regular events to connect, inform and inspire our community. From participatory interactive workshops to instructive masterclasses, panel discussions and networking creative mixers, for employers, freelancers and young people.
