Seeham Rahman is an arts and culture professional with a focus on music, cultural criticism, community engagement, and storytelling. Their work spans community arts, music events, and grassroots organising, shaped by a deep connection to diverse cultural identities and spaces.
While studying Social Sciences at UCL, Seeham explored global issues and the intersections of culture, society, and identity. This academic foundation continues to inform their socially engaged practice.
They then began their career as a culture writer, focusing on South Asian identity and music criticism, before moving into community arts fundraising at the Roundhouse for their creative programmes.
More recently, Seeham worked as a creative assistant at Polydor Records, supporting campaigns for artists including Sam Fender, The Rolling Stones, and Haim. They have also contributed to projects across music, advertising, and film as a freelance production assistant.
Now joining STEP, Seeham is excited to grow their creative practice, particularly in public arts curation, and to collaborate with other early-career creatives. Having often navigated the sector independently, they look forward to the mentorship and community that STEP offers.
