Iqra is a recent History graduate, interested in the social and economic history of early modern London and military warfare. She is also very passionate about storytelling the ‘untold’ histories, attempting to diversify audiences and make museums more inclusive. She started her career working at the British Museum and then moving on to become an Interpretation and Creative Programme Assistant at English Heritage where she assisted with the historical and archival research of various sites and properties and the commissioning of contemporary art. One of the projects she worked on is the Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival . Iqra is really excited for her placement with the V&A as it will be an opportunity for her to take on a new role within a museum and develop her skills so that she can progress her career to the next stage and continue to build her professional portfolio and network to one day become a successful individual within the arts and culture.
