My name is Gizem and I am a filmmaker and videographer based in London. Growing up, I knew I wanted to create films before I even knew it was a career option; now as an adult, I am taking steps towards pursuing this field, with a speciality in Fashion Film and Videography.
I find fashion to be an incredibly fascinating category of visual arts, and I believe it plays a bigger part in our society than generally recognised. From the initial design to the way one chooses to display and/or wear the garment, every piece of clothing tells a story. I aspire to tell this story through the medium of digital media.
Pursuing this career with the help of the STEP programme is a huge step in the right direction for me. To be surrounded by like-minded individuals who come from backgrounds parallel to mine will be vital for me to build a sense of community simultaneous to working towards my craft.
