I’m from a Turkish-Kurdish background which I have made work about during my masters in Theatre and Performance, I really take pride in who I am and where I’m from. My passions lie with diversity and diversifying spaces that don’t usually embrace the beauty of differences.
For all my life I have lived in Hackney, in London- diversity has been all I’ve known. The embracing of diversity has been an essential element in my process of life- without it, I believe I wouldn’t be here. I’ve had a long standing interest in performance, dance and music, mostly exploring these in an educational setting, and so I am extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to explore this in a professional setting with Breakin’ Conventions at Sadler’s Wells, through the STEP program.
I am delighted that there are group sessions and mentoring available through STEP, as I believe I am very much a person who thrives when connecting with and sharing with people!
